About Inspirit AI

Inspirit AI aims to inspire curiosity in elementary and middle school students globally, by exposing them to the defining technology of our times. We provide small, live, online, courses in AI with a focus on web development, mobile development, and more – getting students interested in applying cutting-edge technology for social good.

This program, developed and taught by a team of alumni and students from Stanford, MIT, and Harvard, provides a background in programming fundamentals, initiating AI-inspired projects, and general mentorship.

AI Creators for 5th - 7th Grade Students

In this 25-hour online Scratch program, students build AI apps using block-based programming tools like Scratch and Thunkable and machine learning tools like Google’s Teachable Machine. As students learn about the concepts and ethical challenges behind AI and the basics of Scratch programming, they train and deploy machine learning models for self-driving cars, chatbots, classification problems, and more!

No prior programming or computer science background required! However, an interest in learning how to write code is appreciated.

AI Creators Course Features

Guided coding explorations in which students apply AI to real-world problems in Scratch.

Design challenges in which students create plans for ethical technologies.

Discussions on the social impact of AI to develop students’ critical thinking skills.

AI project work as students complete a multi-week AI for Social Good project.

“It’s crazy to me that we’re able to have students as young as middle schoolers exploring and using machine learning.

What’s even more amazing is the students’ ability to fully immerse themselves in AI. They’re constantly hungry for more.”

– Kayla Holman, Instructor & Curriculum Director, MIT Alum

AI Pioneers for 7th - 8th Grade Students

In this 25-hour online Python program, students dive into training AI to understand language, fight COVID-19, drive independently, and more! As they learn to program AI in Python and RunDexter, they apply algorithms to real-world datasets, discuss AI ethics and careers, and build interactive web apps to deploy their machine learning models.

No prior programming or computer science background required! However, an interest in learning how to write code (specifically Python) is appreciated.

AI Pioneers Course Features

Interactive activities to introduce new technical concepts (i.e. chatbots and recommender systems).

Discussions on the social impact of AI to develop students’ critical thinking skills.

Guided coding explorations in which students apply AI to real-world problems in python.

AI project work as students complete a multi-week AI for Social Good project.

“Pioneers is my favorite program to teach.

I love the enthusiasm every student brings—they are all so excited to learn! I’ve watched students develop lifelong passions  for AI and gain the skills necessary to pursue those dreams. I love giving students that opportunity.”

– David McCowin, Instructor & Curriculum Manager, Yale Student
